Musa Khumalo is the Chief Risk Officer at the City of Ekurhuleni. Musa has served in the public service for more than 13 years in various roles at Statistics South Africa, National Treasury and now with the City of Ekurhuleni. He holds a Master’s degree in Risk Management, an Honours in Economics and various other certificates and qualifications in the area of financial management.
He is also a member of various committees in the public sector driving the programme of prudent risk management whilst contributing to the development and improvement of risk management standards and practice notes in the public sector. Musa Khumalo was awarded Risk Officer of the Year 2017 by the Chartered Institute of Government Finance, Audit and Risk Officers as well as Runner-Up Risk Manager of the Year award by the Institute of Risk Management South Africa in 2016. Musa Khumalo has also won other similar awards in his capacity as Risk Officer.
Musa Khumalo is a Mandela Washington Fellow and has presented in various conferences on governance, ethics and risk management. He has a keen interest in building ethical societies.
