The metaverse, digital twins and your business | Lazaros Karapanagiotidis

The Metaverse is one of today’s most rapidly evolving phenomena. It is misunderstood, overused, and misapplied. More so in a business context. Lazaros provides us with a perspective of how the user experience of gaming will drive the Metaverse, in line with the rapid evolution and merging of technologies such as 5G, Machine Learning, IoT, Cloud, Batteries and Graphical Processing. Lazaros practically describes how Digital Twins will be the way businesses will be run in the future, a move away from more traditional mediums, and how business leaders can structure their thinking to make practical sense of this concept. A not too distant, or ‘virtual’ reality. Lazaros Karapanagiotidis has spent his career in Digital Strategy development and implementation, eCommerce, Digital Product Development, Marketing, and Enterprise Transformation. He is interested in making sense of what "Digital" means, and how it applies to everyday life for businesses and consumers. His passion is in leveraging data to drive business outcomes and is a regular writer on topics impacting the fourth industrial revolution.

Innovate yourself and reconnect to your creative genius | Michael Lee

Creativity, innovation, and adaptability are among the most important business skills today. And luckily we are all born as creative geniuses – creativity is our birthright! So why do we find innovation so difficult? Why do 95% of product innovations fail and why are leaders dissatisfied with their innovation programs at roughly the same levels? It’s mainly because most of us have traded our innate flexibility and adaptability for safety and security in our identity – who we see ourselves as. We have become attached, even addicted, to our opinions, approaches, values, and perspectives. As great as we humans are at creative thinking, we are at least as good at judging things and getting stuck in those judgments forever. And that is why Michael Lee points out in this talk that the most important innovation you can ever make is to innovate yourself. Only then can you consistently and successfully innovate in your product, project, team, or company. Creativity is really thinking differently from YOURSELF and innovation is acting differently from yourself. Learn how to begin letting go of your addiction to your view of who you are in this transformative presentation. Michael Lee is an international expert in the mindset of creativity and innovation and has been involved in education for a number of years. With more than two decades of experience as a writer, script editor, director, and producer in the film and TV industry across the US, Europe and Africa. His TV productions have won 5 South African Film & TV Awards (SAFTAs).
